Why use PVC?

PVC pipes are widely used in piping systems, drinking water supplies, drainage systems, and fire sprinkler systems. The reason behind the use of PVC pipes is it is safe, durability, environmental benefits and recyclable.

For water transportation, PVC pipe is the best option. PVC pipes have a high degree of inertness and corrosion resistance. And as it is providing clean and healthy water, it is the first choice for water transportation.

The very first PVC piping system was installed 80 years ago and most of are still working fine. PVC pipes are long-lasting and have a lifespan of 100 years for underground pipe systems. PVC pipes have a much lower failure rate than other materials like steel, asbestos cement, cast iron, etc. As the PVC pipes have low maintenance and installation costs make PVC pipes are a cost-efficient option.

PVC pipes have many environmental advantages than other materials. PVC is a low carbon plastic and require less energy and resources to manufacture. As PVC is low weight, required fewer resources to transport. It is long-lasting and has minimum maintenance and easily recyclable. Like in the three-layer pipes the core layer is made from recycled PVC. PVC pipe has a smooth surface which reduces pumping cost and energy and also the fittings minimize the water loss.

PVC pipes are easily recyclable and can be recycled many times without losing its technical properties. The recyclable material is used to make new pipes and new PVC products.

With the use of recycled PVC saves energy and the environment. With every kg of PVC recycled saved 2 kg of Co2. Recycled PVC consumes energy 90% less energy to manufacture than the virgin plastic.
