Types of PVC Pipes

PVC Pipe Categories

PVC-U

Full form of U-PVC is unplasticized PVC means there is no plasticizer added to the PVC compound. U-PVC is also known as rigid PVC. U-PVC is mostly used for piping and fittings for the supply of drinking water, underground drainage and also industrial application.

There are many benefits of using U-PVC pipe as it is safe, lightweight, affordable and easy to use. It has high durability, maximum chemical resistance and also resistance to UV exposure. Also, U-PVC pipes have environmental benefits and 100% recyclable.

C-PVC

Chlorinated PVC is known as CPVC. CPVC has many advantages like U-PVC. C-PVC and U-PVC both are safe for drinking water and have high corrosion resistance, high durability and also has high impact resistance. As it has high chlorine content, U-PVC pipes and fittings can handle the high temperatures. And made C-PVC a widely acceptable for water piping systems in residential and commercial construction also. The C-PVC pipes and fittings are 100% recyclable.

PVC-O

PVC-O is a molecularly oriented and there is a layered structure of unplasticized PVC (PVC-U) in the PVC-O. It has many benefits of PVC-U like corrosion resistance, maintain water quality, cost-effective and also recyclable and have a proper balance between strength, stiffness, and flexibility. Main reasons behind the use of PVC-O are high hydraulic capacity, ductility, crack propagation and impact and fatigue resistance. And with these benefits, PVC-O is preferable for pressure pipes for water supply. This pipe is also suitable for irrigation and sewer pumping mains. The PVC-O pipes and fittings both are 100% recyclable.
