What is the difference between Bimetallic Screw and other Screw?

The double alloy screw is made of 88wc/12c0.Crc/25Nicr.XaloY108 material and made with integral quenching treatment. This is suitable for materials like fiber, plastic, and PPA, PO, PPS, LCP, ABS, fireproof, Bakelite, magnetic powder, PC, special engineering plastics. This solves the problem of falling off the chrome-plated screw and it guarantees to protect the environment requirements of the product.

Where it is Use: Injection Molding Machine/Extrusion Machinery/Bakelite Machinery

Processing Range: Inner diameter φ20mm-φ250mm

Effective Length: 8000mm

Alloy composition: 88wc/12c0.Crc/25Nicr.XaloY108

Nitriding Hardness: HRC59o-65o

The nitriding makes the surface of the screw barrel has higher hardness and wears resistance. Like the hardness of the surface of the screw barrel of 38CrMoAlA alloy steel reached HV950 or above after nitriding. It is equivalent to HRC = 55o. -58o. the high strength and high wear resistance nitriding maintained at 350-450o C without any changes.

This can improve fatigue resistance. Due to the formation of the greater compressive stress in the nitride layer, the screw barrel exhibits the higher fatigue limit and lower notch sensitivity under alternating load. The fatigue limit of the rear screw barrel can increase by 30%.

This improves the corrosion resistance of the workpiece. As the nitriding form a dense layer, the chemically stable layer on the surface of the screw has high corrosion resistance in water vapor and alkaline solution. The nitriding method is simple and economical and it replaces galvanizing bluing and other chemical coatings. Some of the screw barrels are nitrided as it improves wear and corrosion resistance. This also reduces the stickiness of mechanical and screw barrels. This helps for mixing, extending the life of the machine.
